Hello queens, because we are doing it for the culture, today we will be taking apart the true meaning of being boujee, and how one can become 'bad and boujee'.

People often confuse 'boujee' as someone who is stuck up, too high maintence, and rude. But let me tell you, this is far from the truth.

Boujee comes from the word bourgeois, meaning a need for luxury. This may be somewhat true, but this meaning has spread out. Becoming a boujee queen you must be intelligent, high fashion, have high standards, and be a person of quality. This comes with confidence and knowledge of self worth. Before you call yourself a queen, you must BOSS UP! And I will teach you how.

There are many ways to spell it 'bougie'.It can be spelled, boujee, bougie, bougee, so I may refer to the word using different spellings.

As we all know, boujee became a well known saying because of a popular hip hop group named, The Migos. Their song 'Bad And Boujee' hit charts all over the world. On Nubian Chic, The Migos are 'kind of' our inspiration, because we are both doing it for the sake of the culture.

In the music video, they were all dripped in designer, eating from a golden champaign bottle, being classy. And to be honest, this is what being boujee looks like (with some exceptions).

But being boujee does not mean that you become stuck up, rather it requires you to know who you are. Knowing who you are, mixed with confidence, will automatically cause others to believe you are obnoxious. Because of the way you carry yourself and the way you dress will make others feel intimated, when in reality you are a CONFIDENT person. Please check out this @blog to see more on confidence and self worth.

Someone with a high level of cockiness, perceives others to be below them and rejects positive criticism, but you do not. Instead, you love yourself and you aren't afraid to put yourself first. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!

Being boujee means you HOLD YOURSELF UP TO HIGH STANDARDS! You're a classic, so you don't let anyone throw your name to the dirt. You care about your reputation, your looks, AND your brains. Nothing less, only more. It hurts my eyes (and my heart) to see women who neglect their brains, and still call themselves 'high class.' Although we should care about how we look (for ourselves and not anybody else), we understand that at the end of the day, looks DON'T matter.

Being a queen, you'll realize that men automatically believe you either belong in a kitchen or at a fashion show. Now as much you love your tea and your clothing, you know that you're capable of more. You know (and understand) a little something about everything, and you refuse to leave the talking to the 'big boys'. But until then, you're not yet queen, but a princess in the making. If you're fine with being a 'princess in the making' you will never get to your full potential.

Holding yourself to a higher standard means you live for the finest and aim for the best. Find the best school around you, and work your butt off into getting there.

You're EXCLUSIVE! This means not everybody can hang. Don't get me wrong, be friendly, but not everybody is your friend. Know who is there for you and who isn't. Let go of toxic relationships and toxic behaviors. Being exclusive means you want the finest of everything. The finest living, the finest clothing, the finest FRIENDS. This may require you to become a little meaner to exclude every unstable foundation out of your life.

Being Boujee means you DON'T FIGHT IN PUBLIC. Boss up queen, you're better than that. Your hair, nails, clothing, are worth more than a petty beef that won't matter in three months.

Being boujee is a lifestyle, not a habit. At first you learn and adapt to it, then it is you. Having this lifestyle may cause for a lot of changes and adaptions, but if you really want it, you will get it (tip: Ask God for help!). And when you finally achieve it, even when you are eating some ramen noodles, you look good doing it.

And most importantly, you must understand that nobody owes you anything, and you don't owe anybody anything. Don't feel entitled, but instead work hard and have faith. You are a striving queen who prides herself at achieving everything by herself (through Gods help, of course). And don't feel bad for saying no more often than yes.

Be encouraged to take big steps to get what you want.

If you made it up to this point thank you my nubian queens! Enjoy every moment. If you're reading this blog, God has planned you to be here, meaning you are on your way to victory. Use the rest of my website as a tool to be able to ride onto trumiph victoriously! Love you, and see you next time
